Utilities Networks
Optimization

The Steam Network is responsible for providing heat and power to the different units of the complex. Usually, all efforts are focused on maintaining steam production and improving it to the maximum, leaving aside the important role that the network plays in maintaining overall plant production.

Cooling water network operations are not properly understood in most plants due to the lack of indicators. Furthermore, as more units are added to the facilities over time, there is a rise in the number of heat exchangers using cooling water in the network. As an extra consideration, after years of operation, piping gets rougher, and pressure drops across the network increase.

Due to the high cost of hydrogen, a key reactant in refinery hydroprocessing units, its usage, consumption and generation must be closely monitored in the different existing distribution networks (high-, medium-, and low- purity). Inprocess can provide A robust and user-friendly optimization software tool, capable of determining the best hydrogen network configuration, distributing flows and purities from producers and consumers.
