Management of hydrogen networks in refineries and petrochemical sites
Management of hydrogen networks in refineries and petrochemical sites, with the objective of minimising external hydrogen consumption, as well as the one purged to the fuel network, while maintaining hydrogen purity and headers pressure in reactors to ensure catalysts activity and lifecycle, is an optimisation activity that several of Inprocess’ clients have implemented.
A steady state simulation model of the hydrogen network is linked to the plant data acquisition system, updated with current values, and optimized off-line for flows against and economic objective function. Optimized flows can be automatically sent to DCS setpoints (closed loop), or be manually input by operations staff, once accepted (open loop).
