Overview
Simulation, knowledge, profit

Join us on June 3rd for a deep dive into real-world case studies and best practices in the application of dynamic process simulation within the oil and gas industry, presented by the experts in the field.
The workshop will explore how Operator Training Simulators (OTS) deliver value in existing facilities, both in new deployments and in upgraded systems. Practical examples will demonstrate how dynamic simulation can enhance operational stability, resolve issues, and eliminate bottlenecks in brownfield assets.
We will also present the use of dynamic models for flare and safety valve analysis, providing a reliable basis for validating PSV sizing and ensuring the performance of flare systems following changes in process conditions or throughput.
The session will conclude with real-life applications of process digital twins, highlighting their role in improving operational efficiency, optimizing control strategies, and supporting decision-making throughout the asset lifecycle.

Presenters

Miquel Angel Alós has over 26 years of experience in the modelling of Oil & Gas and Chemical Processes and in the delivery of educational training programmes. At Inprocess, Miquel Angel leads the Services Department. And technically his work is focused on Flare Analysis and Flow Assurance using both approaches, steady state and dynamic modelling. He also deliver educational programs.
Before, at AspenTech, he was driving simulation projects for supporting and teaching Oil and Gas and Refining process simulation users. Previously in Hyprotech, he provided worldwide customer support and training for HYSYS and for Hyprotech’s Batch Processes Lifecycle solutions.
Miquel Angel has been lecturing reaction engineering and process simulation courses at Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, where currently collaborates as Associated Professor of the International Master in Chemical Engineering. Miquel Angel got a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering in 1997. During his research activity he was involved in the modelling and simulation of aromatic nitrations, hydrolysis, esterification, oxidations and polymerization processes focused on the inherent safe design of chemical reactors

José María is Senior Advisor and Project Manager at Inprocess.
He holds a MSc. Electrical Engineering degree and Pre-Doctoral in Robotics.
In 1995 he began his career as Process Control engineer at Dow Chemical and five year later he joined Hyprotech/Aspentech as OTS business consultant. During 10 years at Aspentech he executed several dynamic simulation projects covering ESD verification, Process Control, APC implementation and OTS.
In 2010 he joined Inprocess to develop the OTS business and to support the Dynamic Simulation Services and Training, especially in the Advanced Process Control. In the last 5 years he has been leading a number of online process Digital Twin project and finding new appliead use cases.

Hossam Daoud is the Sales Manager for the MENA region at Inprocess, leading business development in process simulation and flow assurance. With over 10 years of experience in the energy sector, including his role as Business Development & Proposals Manager at Arkad-ABB, he brings strong technical knowledge and a client-focused approach to driving project success.
