A new Lifecycle OTS project awarded by Modec!

Modec has awarded Inprocess the development and commissioning of a Lifecycle OTS whose main purpose will be to train the control room operators of Modec’s FPSO Miamte MV34. On top of that, because this OTS is going to be built following Inprocess’ Lifecycle approach:

• Modec’s engineers will benefit from the results obtained with the dynamic simulation model during the design phase of the FPSO’s topsides,
• The proposed operating procedures will be validated and tested in a preliminary Process Trainer,
• The configuration of the Integrated Control and Safeguarding System (ICSS) will be checked out in a virtual FAT (against the results of the process simulation model),
• The control room operators will receive in-depth training well before first oil in the risk-free environment provided by the direct-connect OTS,
• Modec’s Operations team will be supported during the start-up of the FPSO by the Inprocess engineers who will have gained extensive process, control, and procedures knowledge during the development of the OTS

This is going to be the fifth FPSO operated by Modec that will have benefited from Inprocess’ experience in developing and deploying Lifecycle OTSs.

Miamte MV34 will be deployed on the Amoca and Mizton fields, in the Offshore Area 1 block, in the Campeche Bay, some 10 kilometers off the coast of Mexico at a water depth of approximately 32 meters. The field operatorship is 100% owned by Eni Mexico. The Area 1 project is currently in the pre-development phase.

The FPSO will be capable of processing 90,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 75 million cubic feet of gas per day, 120,000 barrels of water injection per day and will have a storage capacity of 900,000 barrels of crude oil. The first oil production by the FPSO is planned for 2021.
