A Major FPSO constructing and operating company has awarded Inprocess the construction of an Operator Training Simulator for their two new Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) platforms, which are soon to be installed off the coast of Brazil (in the Libra field). This field produces a natural gas with a high CO2 content, and thus careful design of the processing facilities in the FPSO is required as well as precise operating procedures in order to be able to adequately process the fluids produced. The OTSs being built to train the control room operators are, in addition, part of a wider-scope simulation lifecycle project which will include dynamic simulation studies to be executed before the actual construction of the topsides, as well as validation of the proposed operating procedures, checkout of the ICSS databases, operator training, start-up support and post start-up updates.
