MODEC, Inc. has awarded Inprocess the development of the Lifecycle Operator Training Simulator (LC-OTS)

MODEC, Inc. has awarded Inprocess the development of the Lifecycle Operator Training Simulator (LC-OTS) for their Almirante Barroso (MV32) Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) platform, which will be installed in the Búzios field, nearly 180km from Rio de Janeiro, on the southeast coast of Brazil. The FPSO will be able to process 150,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 212 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, and 240,000 barrels of water injection per day. In addition to that, it will have a minimum storage capacity of 1,4 million barrels of crude oil.
The MV32’s LC-OTS will be installed in the same training centre in Rio where Inprocess is already deploying LC-OTS for MV30 and MV31 FPSOs.

Although the LC-OTS’s main purpose is to train the control room operators on a direct-connect OTS, MODEC will benefit from a wider-scope during the engineering work including: Flare system validation, operating procedures drafting, early operators and engineers training with an emulated OTS, virtual commissioning of the ICSS configuration, start-up and post start-up support.
