Dynamic Flare Load Analysis

Description:

Plant expansion projects, unit revamps or debottlenecking studies may lead to a re-evaluation of the capacity of an asset existing flare system. Usually, after a re-evaluation study, an increase in flare load is determined. If the capacity of the asset flare system is close to its limit, the only solution is a capital project to increase the original capacity. Nevertheless, is there any possibility of reducing CAPEX by using a more accurate way of estimating the flare system behaviour?

Lifecycle Modelling: Using Simulation Models from Engineering Design to Plant Operations

Description:

Plant operators need deep training before the greenfield plant is started-up. Moreover, companies need to diminish potential operational problems related to the equipment sizing, control logic and safety systems by performing early analysis during the engineering design phases.

Minimum Design Metal Temperature determination using Dynamic Simulation

Description:

A considerable amount of equipment and piping in Oil & Gas processing plants is exposed to very low or even cryogenic temperatures during some transient events such as emergency blowdowns, depressurization after prolonged shutdowns or start-ups. Material must be selected within proper temperature ranges according to the Minimum Design Metal Temperature (MDMT).

Lifecycle project and OTS for two FPSOs to be located offshore Brazil

Description:

A Major FPSO constructing and operating company has awarded Inprocess the construction of an Operator Training Simulator for their two new Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) platforms, which are soon to be installed off the coast of Brazil (in the Libra field). This field produces a natural gas with a high CO2 content, and thus careful design of the processing facilities in the FPSO is required as well as precise operating procedures in order to be able to adequately process the fluids produced.

Lifecycle project and Operator Training System for Ghana OCTP Development Project

Description:

In a previous project, Inprocess developed a high-fidelity dynamic simulation model, including all topside equipment with detailed design data. Taking advantage of the existing model, Inprocess carried out a Lifecycle approach for the Operator Training System (OTS) of the FPSO, comprising three phases:

  • The Control Narrative Verification,
  • The ICSS Checkout, and the
  • Direct-Connect OTS (Aspen HYSYS with Kongsberg K-Chief DCS)
